As the daughter of an Air Force Lt. Col., I was offered the pleasure of world-wide nurturing as the military sent us to places of adventure and opportunities. This cultivation has extended throughtout adulthood and continues to impact my children and grandchildren. These impressions of my multi-cultured youth and 36-years of an inspiring marriage are the sparks of a continued quest for scholarship and learning, yielding a many-faceted education ranging from marine biology and physics to classics and the theatre.
Teaching from the middle-school to the university level, operating a business, the thrill of raising a family - with its myriad volunteer and civic occasions - and now the arena of politics has brought another facet of renaissance life.
As Mayor of Bay Minette, Alabama we are poised to participate in unfolding growth, workforce improvement and exciting cultural exchanges. We are learning that a city can adopt the new while respecting the integrity of the past. That's the biggest challenge of leadership - courage to approach the future without fear - embracing change and cherishing tradition through wise planning and development. It is rebirth for the community and the individual. Enjoying astronomy and history - I marvel at the vastness, yet appreciate and study the details. It is this juxtaposition that makes life amazing!
